Sage, lavender
After spending the summer barefeet outdoors, I almost cry when I see all the unripened fruits and vegetables that we leave behind in August. I collect sage and lavender from the garden to have at least some of it with me year around.
I wrap bundles of sage tightly with cotton twine, trim the ends and let dry. The scent is lovely and becomes even more intense as the leaves dry.
Sage is also great for making smudge sticks but I never end up burning them, I just have them around and enjoy the scent.
Lavender is for making sachets for linen closets. The scent has a cooling and calming effect. I let the buds dry, pour them in small cotton or linen bags, and sleep like a baby on my lavender sheets.
